Welcome to the Cathedral Museum Hildesheim. In order to make your visit as pleasant as possible and to preserve the exhibits for the future, please observe these visitor regulations.
- Out of consideration for other visitors, please avoid making noise and speaking loudly. Mobile phones must be switched to silent mode in the collection and exhibition rooms. Telephoning is not permitted in these rooms.
- Smoking is not permitted in the exhibition rooms, in the cloister and in the foyer, nor is eating and drinking in the museum rooms outside the foyer.
- Children under the age of 6 may only enter the museum if accompanied and supervised by an adult. Teachers, supervisors and legal guardians must fulfil their duty to supervise the children and young people in their company during the entire visit to the museum.
- Animals are not admitted to the Hildesheim Cathedral Museum. Exceptions are designated assistance dogs.
- Umbrellas, rucksacks, parcels and larger bags as well as wet coats and jackets may not be taken into the exhibition rooms. In case of doubt, the supervisory staff will decide. Cloakroom and lockers are available. The Hildesheim Cathedral Museum accepts no liability for items handed in or deposited.
- Please do not touch the exhibits and display cases.
- Photography and filming is only permitted without flash or lighting and tripod and only for private purposes. Photography and filming for commercial purposes and in the context of press coverage is only permitted with the prior authorisation of the Dommuseum Hildesheim.
- Visitors are liable for any damage caused by their behaviour.
- There is video surveillance in the rooms of the Dommuseum Hildesheim. The sole purpose of this is to protect the exhibits from theft and damage.
- Expert guided tours of the museum are only conducted by persons authorised by the museum. These tours are subject to a charge and are only possible by prior appointment. External guided tours are only permitted with written authorisation. Proof of authorisation must be presented to the ticket office and supervisory staff.
- All visitors must comply with the current legal requirements with regard to the coronavirus pandemic. Notices provide information about the applicable regulations.
- The instructions of the supervisory staff must be followed. If the visitor regulations or the instructions of the supervisory staff are not complied with, the persons concerned may be prohibited from remaining in the building. Visitors who repeatedly fail to comply with the visitor regulations or the instructions of the supervisory staff may be banned from the premises.
